Most of these manufacturers disappeared long ago, so that keeps them in flight conditions is a challenge.
These planes are a beauty to see, and the great attraction in airshows. These aircraft are carefully maintained by their owners and volunteers and taken for pleasure. You can often get close enough to photograph and talk with pilots.
The two largest air shows in the country are held every year in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Lakeland, Florida. These events bring huge thousands of visitors.
