Skydiving: Skydiving History

Skydiving is a favorite pastime, especially for those attending the end there. However, it may seem that skydiving is something new as a sport, but in fact has a very rich and colorful history that can be very interesting to know, if you are a sports fan or just curiosity.

Milestones and more

Although most of the milestones of the sport happened during the 20th century, its history actually goes back further more. Originally, skydiving began around the 1100s in China, which is about a thousand years ago. Although there were no planes during that time, people would find natural formations where you can jump off and float safely to the ground. In addition, Da Vinci actually did a parachute device showing a wooden frame that has a pyramid. This is just a test that skydiving is actually way more than most people think.

Sports Skydiving History

If you are talking about the sport of skydiving, this issue has a much shorter history in the making. The first person who made the bold move was Jacques Garnerin. Do not jump from a plane though. What he did was to jump from balloons, around the 18th century. He also performed shows of fantasy when he did. Then made their jumps, then would use a parachute to have a safe landing.

When women Came A

Women had a role in the history of skydiving too. However, it was not until the 19th century that began to participate in sport. One of the most famous women in history is skydiving Kathe Paulus. She landed in Germany during the late 19th century and became well known for this ability you.

Generation Aircraft

Since the invention the plane, parachuting history became even more colorful than ever. In fact, it took a great leap of faith, literally and metaphorically! With the evolution of the aircraft, the most evolved and became the parachute became even bolder. Now, reckless had the opportunity to parachute from a fast-moving mechanical device, causing even more spectacular and impressive skydiving routines.

The first woman to ever jump out of an airplane is Tiny Broadwick. She did this daring stunts in 1913. In addition, she is also the first woman to do a freefall jump from an airplane, which he did in 1914.

Skydiving Official: It is!

One interesting fact about skydiving is not called before skydiving. The term was coined skydiving only in the mid-1950s and used to Raymond Young. This was the first time when it was declared really like skydiving. Before he was called as such "parachute" was called simply as "Parachute" by many.

Of novelty sports

Before, skydiving is considered more of a novelty act than a sport. It was only during the period after World War II that art became a real sport that many people could engage in, like basketball. This transition was due to the fact that skydiving and parachuting are commonly conducted as a tactical move by many countries during the war.

In fact, pilots during World War I was told even break their planes into enemy territory rather than bail out and parachute were given only for survival. Since the first successful rescue of an airplane in 1922, parachuting became a popular method of rescue for the drivers.

After the Second World War, became a pastime for many mainstream. This is because returning soldiers enjoyed this activity and not even have the courage to do a free fall. Led out some competitions which became a popular sport for civilians as well. It was in 1957 that schools appeared for the first time skydiving and even now, more people are having the courage to face this extreme sport.
