Here are a couple of easy science fair projects you can do at home, one of them is good for biology, the other teaches physics quite well.
These are projects that can be done with minimal expense, and where most of the work is done by the student, rather than by their parents, and which gave not only for the student in a pre-fabricated kit.
This is the real science, and teach their students some decent things important about how the world, most importantly, teach them to ask questions, find answers for themselves, and show your steps and your data.
Easy Number Project One: phototropism in plants.
For this science experiment, you will need a pair of bean sprouts plants – these can be achieved easily at any garden center or greenhouse, and are fairly easy to get in the spring. You want three seedlings, at least.
Then we'll take some old milk cartons or cereal boxes, and cut some holes in them, use the cardboard cut them to make some internal "shelves." Place the holes and shelves at different heights, all on the same side of the box.
Place the plants in cardboard box, one in front of a hole under, compared a hole of medium height, and one in front of a hole high. Water the plants regularly and normally, but every time time you let them be, put the cereal box cover more of them.
What is different about plants in each hole? The three of them grew up, but each of them grew up differently, as if it is growing toward the light. (Soybean sprouts grow pretty quickly, so this is a good easy science fair project.)
If you do the more elaborate internal lamas, can convince the plants to grow in all directions in this way. Think about what this means for agriculture and hydroponics, and write a brief report.

Let Archimedes' experiments with water-jars and measuring cups. Fill the jar all the way to the edge, and put a measuring cup below its peak.
Now, common elements of the house falling about the same size and mass in the jar, and measure the amount of water spills. Good candidates for this are a ping-pong ball and a golf ball. The difference in the water displaced is the density difference.
This "water displacement effect," is how the Navy measures the weight of the ship – after all, a company aircraft is 600 meters long! It's a bit difficult to pick it up and put it on a scale! (A nuclear aircraft carrier has a displacement tonnage of 92,000 tons!)
