Born in November 1885 in San Gabriel in California, George S. Patton, a very young age, decided that his goal in life was to be a hero. His ancestors fought in War of Independence, the war with Mexico and the Civil War. Patton spent a year at the Virginia Military Institute and graduated in the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in June 1909. He became a second lieutenant in the Regiment Calvary 15. His first experience in battle was with another legendary general, Gen. John J. Pershing. Patton won fame in their cross-border attacks against the men of Pancho Villa and was promoted to captain.
In 1917, during the First World War Patton became the commander of the United States Tank Corps. He and his men, along with British oil allies, won the very first main battle tank in Cambrai, France in 1917. After his victory at Cambrai, Patton Tank set an American school in Bourg, France. With 345 tanks in his command, who was reappointed in battle of Meuse-Argonne operation, which earned him the Distinguished Service Cross for heroism.
With World War II on the horizon, Patton convinced a Congress wary of the need for an armored force. Mechanized Force in 1940 and was formed in April 1941 George S. General Patton was appointed Commander of the Second Division Armored.
December 1941, the United States entered the Second World War. In November 1942, Patton commanded the Western Task Force that invaded North Africa, where, again, Patton was an overwhelming success in the German forces. His success took him to Sicily, Italy, where he commanded the Seventh Army in 1943. He won in his release of the Sicilian population.
In 1944, General Patton was given command of Third Army in France. army Patton raced across more than 600 miles of enemy territory, from Normandy, France, through Belgium, Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia, to release thousands thousands.
In October 1945, General George S. Patton was now in command of the Fifteenth Army in occupied Germany. The December 9 Patton was injured in a car accident which fell to 21 December. Patton was buried among the fallen soldiers who died in the Battle of the Bulge in Hamm, Luxembourg. The controversy surrounding the death of General Patton came from his bitter speech with some American leaders who were allegedly in collusion with Russia's leaders that had cost American lives. Today there are historians who are still investigating these allegations.
